Frequently Asked Questions - Individual Users
This section contains a list of frequently asked questions
concerning the website and how it operates.
If you have read the information on this page and still have
a question, or problems with the functionality of any aspect
of the website, please do not hesitate to contact
the GITG administration team.
- How do the two search
types differ?
Searching on GITG comes in two flavours. You
may either search for a specific club, coach, association
or article using the search box at the top of every page
or alternatively undertake a geographical search from our
home page which will bring up a list of the nearest available
results according to your chosen postcode.
By clicking on to the name of the club, coach or article
from the results you will then be able to read about latest
club news, the facilities that each club has to offer and
any special promotional offers which they may be running.
Furthermore, once registered, you will be able to contact
each club or coach directly, via email, or link to their
own website. You can also subscribe to the club or coach
so that any latest news or articles will filter straight
through to your My GITG account.
- What is the auction and
how do I bid?
On the front page of our website you will be able to take
part in charity auctions at selected times whereby we will
auction off an article of sporting memorabilia with all
the proceeds going to our chosen stated charity.
These auctions will be conducted on eBay, so it will be necessary
to have an eBay account to bid.
- What's My GITG?
The My GITG section (navigation button) gives you the ability
to keep up to date with all the latest news and polls and
read interesting articles about how to improve your game
from all clubs and coaches that you subscribe to. You can
also let us know which sports that you are interested in
under our Fan Zone section so that we can bring
you relevant articles and news from all your favourite sports.
Finally, you can provide us with your feedback which we
would love to hear about what you would like to see, or
be able to do, on GITG.co.uk
- What's the difference
between National Organisations and the Associations listed
in your database?
From the National Organisations
tab you will be able to follow links to all the major able
bodied and disabled sports organisations in the country
in order to learn more about their work and how to get involved
in a variety of different sports.
- Where can I find out
more about a particular sport?
The List Sports option (navigation
button) provides a mini page for each sport, detailing how
to become involved in the chosen sport, the basics of the
game and allowing you to follow global news events as they
happen from around the world. You can also read the most
popular news articles written by professional coaches from
within the GITG community and comment on and rate these
accordingly.
- My coach or club is not
listed. Why is that?
It may be that we simply haven't got around to adding them
yet, or that they haven't supplied accreditation credentials
yet. Either way, if you know of any bona fide sports clubs
or officially recognised coaches that you cannot find on
GITG then please let us
know about them by giving us their details through our
Contact Us
page. Alternatively, if you are an officially recognised
coach or are the manager or owner of a bona fide sports
club and cannot find your club on GITG.co.uk then please
complete our enquiry form in Suggest
a Club/Coach so that we can include your club
on the website.
- What do the icons on
the results page mean?
Where you see the following icons, it denoted that the club
or coach caters for the following:
 |
'Juniors' - this club caters for people
up to the age of 18 |
 |
'Adults' - this club caters for people
between the ages of 18 up to 60 years old |
 |
'Seniors' - this club caters for people
over the age of 60 |
 |
'Disability' - this club caters for
users with varying disabilities |
- How do I set up my profile
page?
Once you have registered and logged in you will see a 'Profile/Account'
option in the top right hand corner of the screen. From there
you will be able to change your password and email address
and you will also be able to add additional profile information
and upload a profile picture. Once inside your 'Profile/Account'
you will find all of these options available on the left
hand side of the screen under 'Account Settings'. Every
time you comment on a club or article your profile picture
will be shown and people will be able to click on your name
and see your profile information.
